Questions   to Ask your Student

Is your fall schedule finalized?

Do you want/need to drop or add any fall classes?

June-August

How are your classes going? 

Are you considering withdrawing from any classes?

  •   If so, have you talked to your advisor?
  •   Would you have enough credits to be a full   time student (minimum 12)?

August-November

Withdrawal Deadlines

  •   1st 8 weeks classes: Sunday, Sept.   25th
  •   Full semester courses: Sunday, Oct. 23rd
  •   2nd 8 weeks classes: Sunday,  Nov. 20th

2nd 8 weeks classes begin on Monday, Oct. 17th

Do you know what classes you want/need to take in the spring?  Have you met with your academic advisor to discuss spring courses (optional but recommended)?

Have you checked your Student Center to make sure you don’t have any   holds that prevent registration?

October-November

  •   Students enroll for spring on their own, starting   on their assigned enrollment date (posted in Student Center).
  •   Most freshmen can begin enrolling November.
  •   Enrollment dates are assigned by the Registrar based on number of completed credits posted to the IU transcript.
  •                                                                          S: One.iu.edu:   Search “Student Center” to check for holds & look for enrollment date.  Click on holds for instructions for   resolving them.  Common holds:
    •   Bursar
    •   My Student Body required modules
    •   Immunization records needed
    •   P: Third Party Access available for   viewing holds

Are you accounting for your final exam dates and times when making   travel plans?

November/December

Have you checked your fall grades?   

December/January

  •   Fall grades available: Dec. 21st
  •   S:  One.IU:   Search “View Grades”
  •   P: Third Party Access available for   viewing final grades

Do you want/need to make any changes to your spring schedule?

December/January
